SPED 509A - September Practicum

In this first field experience, the special education candidate observes the activities of an experienced special educator as the school year begins. The candidate will observe and support the special education teacher with setting up the classroom, becoming acquainted with students, determining the schedule of services, and any other tasks necessary to begin the school year. Candidates will maintain a journal and gather specific information regarding assessments, curriculum, students, and ways in which services are scheduled. Activities associated with SPED 521L, SPED 528L, and ED 519 will be conducted throughout the September Experience. May be repeated for credit.
