ARTH 200 - Art History and Visual Studies

Introduces students to the key terms, practices, and modes of artistic practice as well as the fundamental methodologies of art history and visual studies. Key topics include: shifting definitions of art in a global context; representation, symbols, and iconography; art and power; the body and the politics of representation; art, ritual, and the sacred; and art and popular culture. Approved for University Studies Explorations - Strand E.
