Advanced examination of the “American century.” HST 481 explores the American involvement in the first World War, the boom and bust of the 1920s, the New Deal, World War II, the early years of the atomic era, the Eisenhower presidency, the 1960s, Nixon and Watergate. HST 482 begins with the “malaise” of the 1970s, the Reagan-Bush era of the 1980s and early 1990s, and the Clinton presidency to the present.Prerequisite(s): Upper division standing
