SOAN 338 - Health Care Policy and System Change

The health care system in the United States is rapidly changing. To understand these changes, we review recent changes in federal and state health care policy and their impact on health insurance, drug pricing, physician compensation, and care delivery models. Further, we examine how the development of the Oregon Health Plan and Coordinated Care Organizations is transforming health care in Oregon, and we explore, basically, how the health care system in the United States compares to health care systems in Western Europe.
