The Music Instruction concentration is intended for students preparing to enter the teaching profession as general music teachers or primary or secondary music directors. In addition to the 56 nonelective credits required for the BA/BS degree (Music Core), students take the 30 credits listed in the Music Instruction concentration, bringing their total to 86 music credits. Students will apply for this concentration during their MUS 300  Continuation Exam. Note: The 9 elective credits in the Music Core may be applied to the Music Instruction concentration. Completion of this concentration prepares students for the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) degree and certification required for public school music teachers in Oregon.
