Digital Cinema Minor

Non-majors and Communication Majors in the Communication Studies concentration may earn a minor in Digital Cinema. (Communication Studies majors who choose a minor in Digital Cinema cannot also complete the minor in Digital Journalism.) To complete the minor, students must achieve a minimum GPA of 2.75 in 28 credits of Communication coursework listed below. All courses must be taken for a letter grade unless instructor permission is obtained. Students must meet all applicable requirements listed in the Minors section of this catalog, including the Minor residence requirement.
The Digital Cinema Minor is useful to students in a variety of fields. This minor emphasizes the hands-on skills of film and television production and the theory, criticism, history and analysis of digital cinema. This minor involves a core curriculum, as well as electives drawn from the Communication program and other programs across campus. Students should work with the Communication Program Minor Coordinator to ensure that requirements are met.
