ED 470 - The Exceptional Child 3 credits Examines the special educational needs of children classified as exceptional. Analyzes the legal requirements of mainstreaming and special programs. Covers the practical aspects of providing or adapting materials, curriculum, and teaching techniques. Studies the affective domain of exceptionality and strategies to help children develop to their fullest potential. Prerequisite(s): Junior standing or above. Grade mode designated on a CRN basis each term. Students should consult current term schedule.
