SOAN 456 - Global Health 4 credits Global Health explores the factors that explain the unequal distribution of health and disease globally and how health outcomes are measured. Students are introduced to key global health stakeholders and examine global health policies. Factors associated with the socioeconomic and environmental determinants of health are also discussed along with other challenges affecting global health outcomes, for example, infectious and non-communicable diseases. Finally, students are encouraged to think critically about the global health and human rights issues. Prerequisite(s): SOAN 204 or SOAN 205 or SOAN 213 or COMM 200 ; Junior standing or above, or instructor approval. Graded (A-F) only.
