TA 318 - Voice and Speech II 4 credits Provides a study of the actor’s vocal instrument. Develops an understanding of the physical structure, the mechanics of the voice, and the production of sound. Explores the importance of vivid understanding of language and imagery to fulfill the expressive needs of the text. Exercises concentrate on natural breathing, relaxed body alignment, and emotional connection while cultivating resonant vocal production. Includes the further development of vocal exercises which are adaptable to individual needs and situations. Prerequisite(s): TA 311 , TA 314 , and TA 317 with a B- or better in each; restricted to Theatre majors. Corequisite(s): TA 312 and TA 315 . Graded (A-F) only.
