SOAN 310A - Latinx in Oregon

This course explores social, cultural, and political questions in contemporary Latinx communities in Oregon, including recent histories, and highlights Latinx contributions to Oregon. Students will analyze contemporary issues and histories related to social movements, immigration, citizenship, nation, and race and ethnicity. The course draws on anthropology, sociology, history and related disciplines.  Approved for International Studies major and minor and Ethnic and Racial Studies minor. Approved for the University Studies Integration Strand J - Diversity and Global Awareness or Strand I - Citizenship and Social Responsibility requirement. Prerequisite(s): Completion of all lower division University Studies requirements.
