SPAN 313 - Topics in Spanish for Healthcare 4 credits Topics in Spanish for Healthcare is designed for students with intermediate-low+ proficiency in Spanish (the ability to communicate in straightforward social situations) who would like to further develop their Spanish language skills to more effectively communicate in healthcare settings. Beyond exploring different topics related to bilingual issues in Healthcare, students will study key grammatical, pragmatic and cross-cultural considerations essential to communicating with patients with precision, respect and empathy. Prerequisite(s): SOU Spanish Placement Level 5 or SPAN 203 with a C- or better. Grade mode designated on a CRN basis each term. Students should consult current term schedule.
