ED 251 - Introduction to Teaching 3 credits Introduces the historical, philosophical, and contemporary foundations of the American educational system. Fosters an understanding of teaching and learning processes, as well as the legal, financial, and ethical issues involved in today’s schools. Analyzes current trends and issues in education and provides students with a framework to make decisions about entering the teaching profession. Provides opportunities to engage in field-based activities. This course includes a practicum component. Approved for General Education: University Studies - F Strand Grade mode designated on a CRN basis each term. Students should consult current term schedule.
