ENG 315 - Life Writing: Studies in Autobiographical Texts


4 credits
Examines diverse modes of autobiographical writing (e.g., memoir, autobiography, testimonial, conversion narrative) as texts that represent the self in society. Through the reading and writing of autobiographical texts, the course explores the ways writers construct and represent memory, as well as the relationship of these narratives to the social, political, and cultural contexts in which they are produced. Prerequisite(s): Sophomore standing or above.
