HON 352 - Junior Seminar: Wicked Problems III

1 credit
Year-long Junior seminar taught in three parts. Required for all Honors College students. Explores “wicked problems.” Wicked problems are problems that are societal in nature and are difficult, if not impossible to solve because they are interconnected with other large problems and require multiple disciplines to understand and to address. Students will learn how to “set” and explore wicked problems through a variety of disciplinary and research-based lenses, seeking examples of research-based solutions both in peer reviewed literature, organizational literature and research, and through consultation with experts and community members in our region or in leading organizations who are experts in the topic(s). Students will prepare proposals for actionable solutions that could be implemented in our region, and will present those draft solutions to invited community members, stakeholders, and experts for critique feedback. Prerequisite(s): Restricted to Honors College students.
Graded (A-F) only
