CCJ 388 - Race, Crime, & Justice 4 credits Provides a criminological perspective on race, crime, and justice in the United States. The course identifies racial differences in crime and incarceration, explains those differences using criminological theories, and studies the impact of the United States Constitution on the criminal justice system and the intersections of crime and police, prosecution, courts, and corrections as they relate to race. Lastly, the course analyzes and critiques contemporary issues within the system; its problems and successes and contemplate future solutions and trends. Prerequisite(s): WR 123 or equivalent. Approved for General Education: Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Capacity, University Studies - J Strand Grade mode designated on a CRN basis each term. Students should consult current term schedule.
