ENG 447E - The Harlem Renaissance 4 credits The Harlem Renaissance or the New Negro Movement, as it was known at the time, developed within a larger context of American Modernism. This course will introduce students to some of the historical and social circumstances that helped create the Movement and the various tensions within it. May count towards the Gender, Sexuality, & Women’s Studies program and/or Ethnic & Racial Studies minor. Prerequisite(s): ENG 301 . Approved for General Education: University Studies - J Strand Grade mode designated on a CRN basis each term. Students should consult current term schedule.
