GSWS 330 - Race, Gender, Sexuality, and the Economy

Explores how race, gender, and sexuality affect economic outcomes in the US. Introduces game theory models of the emergence and persistence of identities and social categories. Surveys quantitative research on how systems of power create inequalities between social groups and how public policy can promote a more equitable world. Topics include discrimination, LGBTQ economics, gender inequality, and racial stratification. May be applied to the Economics major and minor and the Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies major, minor, or Transgender Studies Certificate. Prerequisite(s): EC 201 or EC 232 is recommended, not required. (Cross-listed with EC 330.
