PE 251 - Therapeutic Taping Interventions 2 credits In this course, students will be exposed to the most commonly used taping techniques implemented by sports health care professionals. This course will integrate the science behind taping techniques as well as incorporate human anatomy, mechanism of athletic injuries and the effectiveness of taping and bracing as it pertains to injury care and prevention. Techniques to be covered will include rigid strap taping, elastic and traditional cotton tape, “Kinesio” style taping and assorted McConnel taping techniques to both the upper and lower extremities. Prerequisite(s): PE 361 and PE 362 are recommended, but not required. Graded (A-F) only.
