BI 457 - Virology 3 credits Examines various aspects of viruses, including virus structure, how viruses attach to and enter host cells, and the mechanisms by which they produce many copies of themselves. Virus transmission and outcomes of viral infections in the host will also be covered. Finally, we survey the many types of viruses. The approach to this
course will largely be in the context of human diseases caused by viruses, although other viruses are covered as well. Prerequisite(s): BI 341 and BI 342 or instructor permission. Graded (A-F) only
