SPED 516 - Fall Practicum (initial licensure) 4 credits It is designed to allow the candidate to transition to formal student teaching in the winter term. When appropriate, the candidate should assume progressive responsibilities for dealing with student instruction, scheduling, management and mainstreaming, as well as dealing with classroom assistants, parents, volunteers, and regular education staff whenever possible. It is expected that the candidate will attend and participate in before or after school activities, such as IEP, staff and pre-referral meetings as appropriate. The candidate must demonstrate developing skills in all areas of special education, including assessment, instruction, planning, and evaluation.
Prerequisite(s): Designed for students in the MAT initial SPED Licensure Concentration. Grade mode designated on a CRN basis each term. Students should consult current term schedule.
