EC 350 - Behavioral Economics


4 credits
Introduces students to topics in behavioral economics - the subfield of economics that applies insights from psychology and sociology to explain economic decision-making and further improve the standard theory of economics. The course is intended to expose students to rigorous economic methodology to rationalize a wide range of economic decisions and behaviors. Topics include decision-making under risk and uncertainty, choices and preferences, behavioral game theory, prospect theory, social preferences, trust and reciprocity, anomalies, heuristics, and biases in judgments. The course also emphasizes concepts in behavioral finance. Prerequisite(s): EC 201Z  and EC 202Z .
