MTH 421 - Topics in Applied Mathematics

4 credits each
The following and other topics are offered as needed. Repeat credit is offered for distinct topics.

Partial Differential Equations: Introduces diffusion, wave, and Laplace equations; sepa­ration of variables; and Fourier series. Prereq­uisites: MTH 281  and MTH 321 .

Optimization: Introduces linear program­ming and nonlinear optimization. Prerequi­sites: MTH 261 ; CS 200  or CS 257 .
