ARTM 410 - Curatorial Practices

2 credits (repeatable-maximum 4 credits)
Students gain an understanding of the theory and processes of curating art and related exhibitions. Building upon the prerequisite skills, this course focuses on content development and exhibition design. Students apply critical thinking about exhibitions and issues facing museums and galleries through readings, group discussions and class exercises. Students learn how to manage projects and present ideas to a variety of audiences. This course is preparatory for a practicum where students design and implement an exhibition from start to finish. Prerequisite(s): ARTM 310.
