BI 525 - Molecular Biology 4 credits Surveys current topics in modern molecular biology and biotechnology, including gene expression and regulation, protein interaction, genomics, and signal transduction. Emphasizes laboratory experience and the application of techniques to selected experimental problems. Includes PCR-based techniques, cloning and sequencing of genes, mutation characterization, and interpretation of sequence data using bioinformatics databases and tools.
