ES 384 - Ethnobotany and Cross-Cultural Communication

Explores cultural diversity in the human relationship with plants and the role of plants in diverse world views. Applications of medicinal and ceremonial plants in Native American, Ayurvedic, traditional Chinese, and other practices serve as a vehicle for interpreting how different cultures understand the human place in the cosmos. Examines the interaction of divergent world views through experiential cross-cultural communication against the backdrop of a pluralist philosophical framework and modern sciences. Two 75-minute meetings. Approved for University Studies (Integration - Strand H).Prerequisite(s): Completion of all lower division University Studies requirements.
