ANTH 317 - Pacific Cultures 4 credits Examines the social and cultural diversity of indigenous Pacific Island societies and the changes that followed contact with the West. Considers settlement prehistory, voyaging, linguistic diversity, contact history, subsistence patterns, globalization, indigenous rights, and other dimensions of local life. May be applied to the International Studies major and minor. Approved for University Studies (Integration - Strand J). Prerequisite(s): Completion of all lower division University Studies requirements
