ANTH 340 - Anthropology of Gender

Explores contemporary status, roles, categories, and ideologies associated with genders from a cross-cultural perspective. Case studies provide comparative insights and help students to develop their understanding of the complex role gender plays in human society. In addition, students will consider dynamics of power in relation to gender and sexuality as well as the ways in which gender and sexuality intersect with other aspects of identity. Prerequisite(s): ANTH 213 or GSWS 201 .
