COMM 460B - Communication and Third-World Development 4 credits Explores the strategic application of communication technologies and practices to effect social and economic change in third-world nations and regions. Includes historical, theoretical, and practical exploration of the field of development communication; critical responses to dominant paradigms of development; and emergent or alternative approaches to development and communication that seek empowerment, participation, social justice, and cultural autonomy in marginalized or impoverished communities throughout the world.
