MUS 356 - Audio Recording


3 credits
Surveys basic audio recording techniques and practices, including basic audio theory and terminology, signal flow, patchbays, analog vs. digital recording, multi-track and stereo recording, overdubbing, microphones, editing, mixing, MIDI, and inter-program options. A useful introduction for those planning to pursue the field professionally, with valuable behind-the-scenes tutorials for students planning a career in the post-production industry. Provides basic instruction for those who wish to do home recording or other informal production. Recommended: MUS 100  or ability to read music. Prerequisite(s): MUS 355 .
