ART 205 - Programming for Artists 2 credits Students learn fundamental concepts of computer programming and electronics within the context of contemporary arts practice. Through lectures and hands-on projects, students learn to build algorithmic and interactive works utilizing images, video, sound, and robotics. Students develop projects using Max (a visual programming language for interactive art, music, and multimedia) and Arduino (a text-based programming language for robotics). No previous programming or electronics experience necessary. Approved for University Studies Explorations – Strand G. Corequisite(s): ART 205R (Cross-listed with EMDA 205 ).
