EMDA 321 - Theory & Practice in Emerging Media & Digital Arts 4 credits Introduces students to a broad range of contemporary creators (both artistic and commercial) using digital and other emerging technology. Also introduces students to key theories about emerging technology. These two components are related: students apply the theories to the contemporary examples as a way of testing out their explanatory power. In this way the class aims to broaden students’ sense of what is possible with emerging technology, and to deepen their ability to think about it. Prerequisite(s): EMDA 201 or EMDA 202 or VP 215 or EMDA 203 or EMDA 204 or EMDA 205 .
