ED 457B - Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment


4 credits
Provides a continuation of the complex design of standards-based curriculum and assessment to meet the diverse needs in an elementary classroom. Provides a deeper understanding of culturally responsive teaching. Emphasizes classroom teaching processes to help the beginning teacher develop a repertoire of strategies for instruction, planning, and assessment using current tools and methods. Students continue gaining an understanding of the Oregon State Standards, the Common Core State Standards, and Next Generation Science Standards. Emphasizes effective strategies for standards-based education while making connections from theory to practice.  Encourages reflection of teaching based on work in the field. Prerequisite(s): Completion of ED 457A  with a B or better. Restricted to seniors in the Licensure Track, or with instructor approval.
