ES 451 - Introduction to Geographic Information Systems 5 credits Explores uses of computer-based geographic information systems (GIS) for analyzing environmental features and feature-related data. Desktop GIS is employed for data storage, geographic data analysis, and map design. Covers applications in forestry, planning, resource management, and demography. Four hours of lecture and one three-hour lab. Prerequisite(s): ES 349 . Junior standing or above. Corequisite(s): ES 451L . (Cross-listed with GEOG 451 .)
