ED 460 - Multicultural Education


3 credits
Explores concepts, theories, and strategies that constitute major dimensions of multicultural education in American public schools. Examines issues and attitudes regarding race, ethnicity, language, social class, sexuality, and gender. Promotes culturally relevant and responsive teaching and learning communities that respect individual and group differences. Provides multicultural curriculum, methods, and materials for positive interactions with all children and youth. Instructor integrates experiences from the field with the content of the course. Approved for University Studies (Integration -  Strand J). Prerequisite(s): ED 309   (Multicultural Education) or concurrent enrollment. Restricted to elementary education majors with junior standing or above.
