ES 520 - Environmental Sociology 4 credits Examines the relationship between the human social institutions we create and the biophysical environments in which we live. Topics may include the culture of nature, population and consumption, political economy of environmental problems, social construction of environmental problems, evolution of environmental activism, public attitudes toward the environment, collaborative and community-based resource management, and environmental problem solving. Prerequisite(s): SOAN 204 and one other sociology course or instructor consent. (Cross-listed with SOAN 520 .) Graded (A-F) only.
