The Certificate in Management of Aging Services is for students with a baccalaureate degree who wish to be prepared for management roles in a variety of businesses serving the older adult population. Students will gain business knowledge and experience necessary to thoughtfully design and/or provide needed and wanted goods and services to aging adults. This specialization acknowledges the changing demographics in the United States and internationally, as well as the accompanying demand for innovative and economically viable business models. Some areas of focus include senior housing, technology innovations related to older adult life enrichment, financial services, nonprofit agency services, home-based services, and entrepreneurial opportunities. This certificate is awarded to students who have previously earned a bachelor’s degree or upon completion of a bachelor’s degree.

The Certificate in Management of Aging services requires the completion of 36 credit hours, consisting of seven required courses, two of the four MAS elective courses, and an additional 10 elective credits in a focus area approved by the coordinator.
