This 28-29 credit certificate is for undergraduate or graduate students from all majors as well as non-degree seeking students interested in teaching English as a foreign language overseas. The program addresses teaching methods, issues of language and culture, language acquisition and strategies, instructional materials and material development, curriculum development, field experience, and teaching in a linguistically and culturally diverse world.
Students must earn a passing grade in all required courses, and a minimum GPA of 2.75 in courses contributing to the certificate program.
