The Certificate in Directing Scripted Narrative for the Screen is offered to students who wish to pursue careers in directing for film and television and especially students interested in pursuing graduate studies in film directing. Courses address production technologies, acting methods, directing techniques, narrative editing, and film festivals. To complete the certificate, students must achieve a minimum GPA of 2.75 in 34 credits of Digital Cinema and Theatre coursework listed below.
Students with a portfolio that demonstrates technical proficiency and professional experience in target areas may apply to receive credit for prior learning, which may be used to substitute some program prerequisites or lower-division course requirements.
