The Standards below are based on the National Association for the Education of the Young Children (NAEYC) Personnel Preparation Competences. At least one course must be taken for each standard. Most courses are online except ED 425 .

Standard I: Promoting Child Development and Learning (3-4 credits)
Standard II: Building Family and Community Relationships/Diversity (4 credits)
Standard III: Observing, Documenting, & Assessing to Support Young Children/Families (4 credits)
Standard IV: Using Developmentally Effective Approaches (3-4 credits)
Standard V: Using Content Knowledge to Build Meaningful Curriculum (4 credits)
Standard VI: Becoming Professional and Practicum (5 credits)*
