Business analytics combines three areas of expertise: analytical skills, information technology knowledge and skills, and business knowledge and communication skills. Organizations need people with this skill set in a variety of roles and business domains. The Certificate in Business Analytics provides students with the opportunity to become good data storytellers who can translate complex findings into specific strategic recommendations. The certificate program includes a combination of courses in computer applications, programming, data-driven decision-making, and business analytics. 

All courses taken for the certificate must be completed with a C- or better grade. Students must maintain a minimum GPA of  2.5 or higher in all certificate courses. This certificate program is open to undergraduates, graduates, and post-baccalaureate students. Students who have previously earned a Certificate in Business Information Systems from SOU must complete at least 24 credits towards the Certificate in Business Analytics that were not used for their Certificate in Business Information Systems.
