Students interested in becoming licensed teachers, may be considered for an accelerated Single Subjects Secondary Teaching Certificate earned while completing the BA/BS in their content area.  This will involve joint advising between the major advisor and the Education coordinators for Secondary and Education Studies.  Students will be required to apply early in their junior year.  This certificate is 58 credits and provides the required teacher preparation coursework and field experience for TSPC licensure. Additional test(s) and the Professional Teaching Portfolio are also required and included within this program. The current pathway of a graduate degree - an MAT - will continue to be offered.
