Students interested in pursuing a Music Theatre Minor should complete an application (available in Thearte Arts and Music offices) and submit it to Noel Koran.  This application should be submitted no later than spring term of the student’s sophomore year.

The Music Theatre Minor is only open to Music majors and Theatre Arts majors. It is strongly suggested that students with little or no dance experience who wish to participate in the Music Theatre Minor take TA 157 (Introduction to Musical Theatre Dance) in their freshman year.

TA 357A is a prerequisite for TA 357B. Both courses need to be taken sequentially in the same academic year. TA 357A is devoted to the learning, coachin, and preparation of specific musical theatre literature as assigned by the instructor. TA 357B is devoted to staging and choreographing the material learned in TA 357A. TA 357B will culminate in a public classroom presentation (by the students) of the musical theatre material learned over the course of the two quarters.
