Philosophy Minor

The philosophy minor comprises at least 24 credits in philosophy, 12 of which must be upper division. Students must meet all applicable requirements listed in the Minors section of this catalog, including the Minor residence requirement.

Required Courses

PHL 201 - Introduction to Philosophy 4 credits

A minimum of 8 credits from the following:

PHL 301 - History of Western Philosophy 4 credits each
PHL 302 - History of Western Philosophy 4 credits each
PHL 303 - History of Western Philosophy 4 credits each

A minimum of 4 credits from the following:

PHL 205 - Ethics: Moral Issues 4 credits
PHL 323 - Moral Theory 4 credits
PHL 326 - Indian Ethics 4 credits
PHL 329 - Science and Religion: Critical Explorations 4 credits
PHL 426 - Women and Ethics 4 credits
or other approved ethics courses
