Track A: International Internship

1. Interdisciplinary Culture Core (Tracks A and B)

Three advisor-approved courses in fields related to Spanish. Two courses must be upper-division.

May include one course from ANTH 213 , COMM 200 , or COMM 201 .

May include single topics of SPAN 320 , 425 , and 441 if these courses are not used to satisfy other Spanish major requirements.

2. Language and Literature Core (Tracks A and B)

4. Advanced Service Learning

Track A

Minimum 8 credits from SPAN 408. Students must complete a minimum of 400 hours of work and must enroll in a minimum of 8 credits, but may receive 13 credits for 400 hours or up to 15 credits for an additional 30 hours of work per credit.
SPAN 408 - International Internship 6 to 15 credits
Track B

Students complete a minimum of 120 hours of work and must enroll for a minimum of 4 credits, but may receive up to 15 credits at the rate of 30 hours work per credit.
SPAN 406 - Community-Based Work Experience 1 to 15 credits

5. Capstone

SPAN 498 - Capstone: Research and Writing Seminar 4 credits

6. Interdisciplinary Concentrations

Students in the Spanish major are required to complete a minor or a second major. At least 16 credits of the major must be completed on the Ashland campus, 12 credits of which must be in Spanish courses at the 400-level.
