Sociology Minor

Students who wish to complete the sociology minor are required to declare their intention with the program coordinator. Students must meet all applicable requirements listed in the Minors section of this catalog, including the Minor residence requirement.

Requirements
- SOC 204 - The Sociological Imagination 4 credits
and - SOC 205 - Social Problems and Policy 4 credits
and - Upper division electives (16 credits)
- At least one 4-credit upper division elective must be at the 400-level. Minors must also have taken all listed prerequisites for upper division courses.
- With advisor consent, reading (SOC 401 ), research (SOC 405 ), and seminars (SOC 407 ) may be included; may count 4 credits of practicum (SOC 409 ) toward the minor upper division electives. Students must earn a minimum grade of C+ for each sociology course counted toward the minor, plus a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7 in all courses that are counted toward the minor.
