EMDA 410 - Cultures of Video Gaming: The Serious Business of Play 4 credits Students explore video and computer games’ potential for aesthetic expression, cultural meaning, and collective action. In addition to research essays, students have the option of demonstrating their grasp of the course material through “critical making” projects they can add to their portfolios such as concept art, computer game design, or 3D modeling. Prerequisite(s): EMDA 202 or COMM 215 or EMDA 203 or EMDA 204 or EMDA 205. Grade mode designated on a CRN basis each term. Students should consult current term schedule.
