PSY 411 - Positive Psychology 4 credits Positive Psychology focuses on building and utilizing human strengths in the pursuit of mental health. It calls for as much interest in promoting the best things in life as in repairing the worst, and as much attention to fulfilling the lives of healthy people as to healing the wounds of the distressed. This course discusses emerging research in positive psychology, its relationship to both physical and mental indices of health, and the use of applied positive psychology principles for the helping professions. Prerequisite(s): Sophomore standing or above. Grade mode designated on a CRN basis each term. Students should consult current term schedule.
