HST 315 - Ancient Greece 4 credits Examines ancient Greece from the Minoans and Mycenaeans through the death of Alexander the Great in 323 b.c.e. Topics include Minoan and Mycenaean civilizations, the so-called “Dark Ages,” archaic Greece, the emergence of the poleis, the Persian Wars, the rise of Athens, the Peloponnesian War, and Alexander the Great. Features economic, social, political, and intellectual developments. Prerequisite(s): Junior standing or above and completion of Social Sciences and Humanities Explorations courses. Graded (A-F) only
