CCJ 230 - American Criminal Justice System 4 credits Surveys the functional areas of criminal justice in the U.S. Covers law enforcement, criminal courts, sentencing, penal institutions, community-based sanctions, and the juvenile justice system. Includes historical and contemporary perspectives on components of the criminal justice system, as well as the legal and constitutional frameworks in which they operate. Approved for University Studies (Explorations Strand F–Social Science). Grade mode designated on a CRN basis each term. Students should consult current term schedule.
