BA 454 - Accounting Information Systems 4 credits This course explores systems for accumulating, processing, analyzing, and reporting accounting data. Students will examine business processes, data flows, risk management, process documentation, and internal controls to prevent fraud and ensure data integrity. Topics include database concepts, systems design and implementation principles, and the application of data analytics in accounting. Students will also gain hands-on experience with the accounting module of an ERP system through project-based learning. Extensive use of Excel. Prepares students for subsequent courses in Auditing. Prerequisite(s): C- or better in BA 211Z . Grade mode designated on a CRN basis each term. Students should consult current term schedule.
